This reads very like the excerpts Durrell used to quote from fan mail.

Gerald Durrell writes in My Family and Other Animals that among his collection in Corfu, preserved in methylated spirits, was a four-legged chicken. This would have been in the late 1930s. Has Greece once more led the world?
